OK, so I just got another email topic notification, clicked the link to a .com.au URL and it wanted me to login. Removed the .au from the URL and I was in (no more login screen).

There was a strange domain expired message sometime recently - perhaps there was some sort of new redirect triggered and forum settings just need to be reset to specify the .com address in email notifications?

No idea really, just talking aloud :dontknow:

I was locked out couple weeks ago.
Requested new password, which didn't work.
Requested again, and site didn't recognise my details.
Finally got in. But now site won't accept the auto log in" feature.
Plus, some forum links when chosen, log me out.

Site has a few bugs left after it crashed recently, I say.
Am sure admins will sort them out in due time.

The crux of the matter is that everyone needs to access the site via www.ozfoz.com/forum. For the time being, the .au variations have issues.

These will be rectified in future.

I'm still getting randomly shafted to a .au page when I click on something and getting logged out. Cleared cache, happens on phone & PC.

This has been ignored by forum admins for years.

This forum is being actively punished by Google for duplicate content across multiple domains.

AND it's a **** experience for the forum users.

There is ZERO benefit to the double domain garbage, in fact it is categorically damaging to the site. Turn one into a permanent redirect to the other, and OzFoz will start getting the kind of search result rankings it deserves. The forum might even get some new members. I expect this will be ignored again, like it has every time I've pointed this out for years. Forum is on auto-pilot, everyone in control is either too busy or lack the technical confidence to make the small changes required.

An admin has read my advice message and responded by adding sh ! t ( minus spaces) to the swear filter. Got those priorities in order boys!

People in power are asleep at the wheel. I'm going to sign out for a year again. Laters.

Sorry guys, I don't have access to the back end of the forum, nor the technical ability to tweak anything even if I did. Magus is the expert in this regard, and he's a very busy boy these days career-wise. I'm in exactly the same boat. Free time = family time. If I'm on the forum once a week for a few minutes, I'm doing well.

We're doing our best to simply keep the forum afloat, so that people can benefit from the info here. I know things aren't perfect. There simple fact is that very, very little revenue generated by the forum any more due to older forums such as this dwindling in traffic and general interest, and people being able to advertise via Faceballs for free. Effectively, we are keeping OzFoz functioning as a 'love job'.

The .com.au issue bugs me to tears too!!

There's some discussion in the KAP Industries thread too:
