I've procrastinated long enough about replacing the mighty Rolla 'Alan' ... but it's goodbye Alan and hello 'Dot'.

My grandmother died last year, and I inherited some money just recently ... so it's an end to the procrastinating, and hello to the newest member of our family. My grandma's name was Dorothea, but everyone called her Dot, so I thought it a tribute to name the car 'Dot'! ;)

She's a MY07 Impreza R Luxury. Here she is ... ;)

Mod list:

Bodywork, interior and 'stuff':
- fire extinguisher
- blade-type wipers
- DIY wind noise reducers (front only: the rear window rubbers kept pulling away from the frame with the tubing in place)
- ICE: Kenwood DVD double-DIN head unit with Hertz speakers front and rear. Sounds pretty good, although the rear speakers are only 4" items in this car, and they're a bit "out of the way" and under-powered (but pretty good after some settings adjusted, etc).
- dash mats
- floor mats
- tinting (darkest legal)
- Highbeam bulbs: brightest legal Phillips HB3
- Foglight bulbs: brightest available (read: illegal) Phillips H3
- Headlight bulbs: brightest legal Phillips H7
- All interior lights are now LED
- Personalised plates: 0*IMP*7 in royal blue on silver
- Hood struts

Braking, Suspension and handling:
- Tein Street Advance coilovers. Cop this: they are just as cost effective as a new set of springs and struts (sourced from Fulcrum).
- Whiteline KLC30 front swaybar endlinks
- Whiteline 19mm front swaybar bushes
- Whiteline KCA414 camber bolts, front and rear: yet to be installed
- Ultrex front / rear strut braces
- 2008 Impreza RS rims, 17x7, 55mm offset. Nitto NT830 205/45/17 tyres (88W, treadwear 300, traction AA, temp A), which are only 1mm different from OEM diameter spec (an unusual size, that isn't available in every tyre brand / model). Very smooth and quiet.
- 15" OEM rims have a set of cheap tyres, to beat the crap out of on the skid pan and for dirt days.
- Cusco Rear Subframe Brace
- Cusco brake master cylinder stopper (with sticker, for extra killerwasps!)
- Whiteline KCA362 anti-lift / caster kit
- SuperPro power steering rack bushings
- Whiteline RCA kit
- 20mm RSB off a GDB Impreza + Whiteline bushes to match
- Whiteline KTA109 lateral links
- Whiteline KLC26 RSB endlinks
- Whiteline positive shift kit bushings
- HEL braided brake lines
- Front and rear brakes: RDA slotted rotors (OEM size), RDA GP Max pads
- Ultrex short-shifter
- Ultra Racing underbody braces and side braces
- J-speed fender braces

Suspension settings:
- Tein Street Advance spring rates: 5kgf/mm front and rear (see their USA website).
- 1mm total toe out front; zero toe rear
- 1.25 degree negative all round
- Just over 3 degrees caster
- 10mm rake ... OMG, a Subaru that actually has rake!!!
- Dampers (1 to 16 clicks): 4 of 16 clicks front and rear has been the best result from track training in the wet. 4F:8R clicks works best on dirt.

Engine:
- Any suggestions? :P
- Perrin pitch stop mount (with stickers, to add killerwasps  )
- Cusco engine and transmission mounts

To be installed:
- Supercharger??
- High-speed gear-stick knob??

Future:
- Would love to find a "front performance bar" that would fit without hitting the n/a exhaust!? Anyone got any suggestions?

Hmm ... nasty mob-bug won't let me be.

Looking through the Whiteline website, and it seems there's heaps that can be done with these little gems ... so she will get some TLC along the way. ;)

First mod, a matching fire extinguisher to her big brother's, as well as a new set of blade-style wipers.

Filled her up on the way home, and checked the tyre pressures just for good measure! Tyres were 24-28psi all 'round ... with the spare at 20psi.

Today she got her headlights polished ... no more dull oxidation! ;)

Boy-o-boy it's proving hard to find good /reliable information for this model. Lots of info for WRXs, but not so for the N/A wagon, so it seems. Anyone know a good place to get some good info?

Next stop, Bunnings ... for some DIY wind noise reducers ...

I noticed that the rear of the car had a rattle, and the bonnet had a slight wobble. So ... after a quick gander, I found that all 4 rubber bumper-stops for the bonnet / boot-lid were essentially non-functioning. Wound them out to a suitable position ... no more bonnet wobble, no more boot rattle! :D

I've contacted Rising Sun Subaru for a RSB set, off a suitable Impreza / WRX.

Researching a good brake set-up: braided lines, rotors and pads. Still plenty of meat on the pads, so just wondering at this stage.

Researching lots of suspension goodies: still deciding where to start.

Booked in for tinting on Monday; new stereo on Tuesday.

The impreza is essentially a non turbo version of a wrx, so nearly everything from a similar year wrx will fit this car, obviously excluding a few engine parts, different exhaust etc
That should help you narrow down your searches, and could explain why you arent finding much info (theres no need, its basically like a wrx in enough ways lol)

Yaahaa ... I'm just finding subtleties a problem.

First up: brakes! Directly the same specs? Looking for braided lines, pads, slotted rotors.

This whiteline brace seems that it would interfere with the n/a exhaust:
http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_det ... ber=KSB716

Right hand side of the RSB seems as though the mounts interfere with a black box that's mounted there.

Etc... ?

;)
