It is with great sadness that I'll be leaving the Forester family.

6 weeks ago I was collected whilst stopped at an intersection. The aluminium tray of a wayward hilux collecting the RH passenger door and rear quarter panel and giving me a good shove 2m across the road...
Despite reassurances that it would be repairable in 7 weeks, It took Rigoli @ Sutherland 4 weeks to decide it was a write off, based on the cost of fixing the wheel arch "underbody panels" and some other things they couldn't quite explain. It's been declared a repairable write off, and towed to Milperra for auctioning (an hour after I got told and had to high tail it across Sydney to get my stuff out of the car)
Can't say I've been impressed with the service.

Parts for Sale:
I've got a TCP Dump Pipe that's been on another SH9 for a year, a stock cat back exhaust and mufflers (100,000k), some thule roof racks (8 years old and slightly damaged but very functional) and possibly some stock sway bars if anyone wants to PM me with an email to send photos to and a reasonable offer.

Unfortunately the sub 80k AWD SUV market is a bit underwhelming at the moment, spent the whole weekend test driving cars and haven't found a Forester replacement yet.

Thanks for all the good times OzFoz, I will always smile when I hear a Forester rumble by.

And Incase someone was buying if for parting out / wrecking:
8000km Old DBA Slotted and Drilled Rotors front and Rear, With DBA Pads.
RE003's with 50% of their Tread Left on original wheels.
TCP Cat Back Exhaust 3" Stainless (Has been on the car for 40,000k
OzFoz Group Buy Front Strut Brace
Whiteline Adjustable Sway Bars Front and Rear
8000km Old Replacement OEM Radiator
The Leather Interior is Pretty damn good condition for a 130,000k
The Clutch is in need of palliative care.
The Stereo doesn't make the fan humming noise.
128,000km on the clock.

File comment: :-(

What a b*gger of a thing to happen. One positive is that "write-off and cheque" is often better than a "repaired" chassis that will never be 100% again.

Good luck with the acquisition of a replacement vehicle. That's usually a b*gger of a thing too because you have some time pressure to get back on the road and can't be as choosy as usual.

Dr. sorry for your loss.
Thanks for the memories and posting the Part Out details.

Looks ok to me. A cut and polish and it will be fine :)

What is better than a Forester - another Forester!
