 Post subject: Obd port/obd2 ports 02 forester sf

Can someone tell me Why do i have 2 ports 1 underneath steering wheel n i got a another one on the side of footwell thanx.

Are you sure that is a OBD port?
Looks more like a harness conector.

The OBD port should be a 16pin trapazoidal conector probably directly under the steering column.

No idea what the one in the photo is for. Haha

Probably just a unused conection on a the standard wiring loom, different options/accesories are pluged in as needed. Folding mirrors etc. :dontknow:

Someone with a SF might know.

Im pretty sure its a diagnostic connector. Just not an obd2. Before cars became standardized with the 16 pin trapezoid obd2 port. Each manufacturer had its own style of connector. I think this is just a plug to interface with the older system. And do functions like abs / srs.

Work used to have a carman scantool that literally had a suitcase full of manufacturer specific adapters to fit all sorts of plugs like that.
