EDIT
so i have a new ecu coming tomorrow. its a used second hand one
i want to know what the processis for using my old keys with the new ecu. can subaru reprogram them or can i do it my self?

OLD PART
so i think i bricked my ecu trying to upload a tune. (something i have done at least 30+ times now with no issue) did a test write before i actually wrote it. all was fine with the test but got an error log with the actual flash.
it now sounds like my fuel pump is stuck on cycling fuel back to the tank.
is there any fixes or what is the process for replacing the ecu. will i need to change the key or reprogram the key or will it be a simple plug and play

Rough. Happened to me once, got the error code during the upload, even though I did a test flash. Luckily it didn't brick my ecu and I was able to reflash it again. Gave me a heart attack though.

Hi Dixon, I've had one fail before. When you got the error, did you just reflash it again until it went through, or did you ignition off?

When mine failed it actually passed both the test write and the flash process without error but when I turned on the key to start the car, nothing happened.

Some how the ecu completely shat itself. It was at the wisemans ferry rally. I took the ecu to silverwater automotive and dave tried to bench flash it in an effort to save it but the computer was cactus. I sourced a replacement (second hand) ecu and had the security info copied from one ecu to the other so there was no need to swap ignitions etc. Once that was done it was just a matter of physically replacing the ecu with a new one.

Your ecu could be fixable, I would send it to entra, in the link that cam posted and get them to have a look at it.

Mi-key put a haltech in his SG. Athouh i think he had to do something about electric throttle. Im not sure if the current range of haltech support DBW. But i would presume so.

i will be getting a Link G4+ Thunder with my tax return this year. The Link has suppot for DBW and should run everything on a forester plus much more. But its wire in.

I dont think there are any plug n play ecu for the forester.

Yep, nick from Entra will fix it.
No plug and plays for the foz, I run a Haltech elite 2500 and yes it does support DBW flex fuel knock control etc, Plus much much more :)
