Hi all
Bit of a noob on this and cant seem to find the answers...

If i have an electronic boost controller and tune the stock ecu of my sg9 foz does it mean that i can have one mapped tuned for maximum power and scale it down by limiting boost? Obviously the car may not run aswell with boost limited as all other parameters set in the tune will not match the amount of boost set.

Also does a 3 port boost solenoid become redundant when you have an electronic boost controller or are they the same thing?

Cheers
Michael

why would u need an electronic boost controller. the tune on the ecu can control all of that with out the need for an aftermarket module.

From my understanding when you remap a stock ecu you can only have one map... if you have a electronic boost controller you can limit boost hence possibly making the car safer more efficient to drive???

I Say: I have CDO. It's like OCD except the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be.

are you sure you can only have one map?
im sure there are people out there with a dual map with a 98 tune and an e85 on the standard ecu. so whats to say that they cant have 2 98 tunes with a low and a high boost

Not sure if you are limited to a single.map if tuning the standard ecu...
Can anyone confirm if they have 2 maps? And how they flick between the 2?

When you run an electronic boost controller, you are bypassing the ability for the ECU to control boost. The main downside that I see is wastegate duty will not be adjusted for intake temps, atmospheric pressures, and IAM drop. But depends on which EBC. Should you wish to still run an EBC, Make sure the tune is able to safely manage with the boost pressures you intend to run.

I have taken out quite a few EBCs and put a 3 port back in its place and use the factory ECU to control boost. It's simply much better due to the compensations and the dynamic control you have over the boost. As Tremayne said, control the boost with your right foot... the key is to have a tune that gives you good control and regulation of power.

You can have as many maps as you would like, you just need a tactrix and PC with ECUFLASH to load the maps when needed.

You can have 2 maps on standard ECU with ECULABS (check eculabs.com).
