I thought I'd chuck this info up for anyone who is not aware. Listed on the Hobart sporting car club web site is a list of all upcoming motor sport events for the remainder of the year - http://www.hobartsportingcarclub.org/events.html

I'm planning to do a few Motorkhana and possibly some Khanacross events before the year is through leading into some more serious stuff in the future.

Is anyone affiliated with any clubs? Got any feedback or additional info?

I think the Hobart Sporting Car Club seems like the pick of the bunch but I need some current members to propose the membership before they will accept.

I'm keen to go for a look out at Baskerville on Sunday 23rd if anyone's about?

hey mate, im looking into the same thing at the minute. Im pretty sure deefa and simon or ollie are members of the hobart sporting car club, so maybe its worth asking one of them if they can do a referral for you?
Ive been keen to get into the racing for a while now but have been too lazy to get my cams license and hscc membership.

Ill fine out what im doing on sunday but i should be able to come out for a look!

Hobart sporting car club it is then!

Spoke with Dennis at Cams and he said they do the level 2 speed license (Hill Climb, Track days) for $100 per year and $55 for the Auto Test (Motorkhana, Khanacross)

I though you need a full cage ect to enter hill climbs but am presently surprised to see that's not the case.

nope.

you can get your level 2ns easily.
to get your 2s you need to be supervised in two 'ns' events (khanacross)

Jarrod, For the Motorkhana at Baskerville next Sunday, you can get a day membership from the CMI club at the event. Looking forward to having a crack!

What does that mean mate? Do you mean you ahve to compete in a couple of Khana style events before you can get the speed 2?

Jarrod, get rid of those bosch coils and buy some late model GTB/ forester/ WRX coil-on plug coils.
Rallyee has some for about $130 on RSLC

they charge faster than the bosch, take up less space in the engine bay and you don;t have issues with dodgy plug-leads
