Hello hello, ladies and gentlemen!

New to the forums (should have probably joined much earlier but oh well). I've owned my Foz for about a year now, bought in January last year from a fellow by the name of Paul (oooooh snap a name drop - I am not a snitch :? )...

Here's a pic for reference, some of you may know of the car:

Anyways, I was hoping to get as much positive info from past threads (or discussions) regarding the little beast (if there is any). It's seen a bit of war the last year.. It's currently off the road and about to get some serious work done - as it just wasn't all that happy when I got it. It came with a huge list of goodies, some of them brand new, it really was a steal. But Paul wasn't joking when he said "I hope you've got a spare 10k lying around"
I've bought a tonne of other bits for it to support the goodies it came with - and to also finish the project/end goal that Paul had in his sights.

Since I bought it - the bad:

It was written off on a kangaroo 6 weeks after purchasing, and then cosmetically restored by me
Blown it's turbo main oil feed line
Leaking rocker covers and unusual timing belt set up
Blown a head gasket
Varex muffler has broken and is stuck on loud
Drank so much oil through oil blow by that I just can't even!!... I actually poured 30 or so mls of oil out of the intercooler a few months ago (seriously wth is with the engineering on these cars - smh) :dontknow:
Bent the tuned headers on a gutter, 'cos the ride height is too low  (one of the reasons I bought the car was the newly built motor and the headers - it doesn't sound like an under powered Harley, more like a two stroke.. no offence, but it's better for the motor and sounds better - AWWW YEAH!!)

The good:

Fixed turbo main oil feed line
Fixed leaky rocker cover gaskets and replaced the old cover with a new one as the old one was bolted in with the wrong bolts smh
Multiple coolant flushes proved a blown head gasket was on the cards (evidence of rad stop leak was apparent)
Fitted Killer B oil pick up and pan
Fixed the bent headers

Plans for the car:

Machine and CC heads and fit titanium head gasket kit
11mm ACL oil pump and new oil lines
Install Gates racing water pump and new water lines
Alloy radiator and new radiator hoses
Radium parallel fuel rail kit and FPR
1050cc Injector Dynamics injectors
Empire TMIC
Fit x2 oil catch cans - or AOS (any other solutions for the ridiculous oil blow by that they suffer from??) :?:
Mishimoto radiator filler tank (stock one was full of gunk, metal residue and rust!!) :?
Pull off and check the VF22 and see if its seals are okay after it blew its oil line :(
Go back to standard boost solenoid
Fit the equal length headers back on
Upgrade the stupid air intake hose which gets crushed underneath the inlet manifold - again smh.. THE DESIGN IS WACKO (even the dump pipe has been bashed to fit passed the steering column)
Remap stock ECU and tune for modest power

The car came with an ECU with a tune for the mods it has to be fitted, 1050cc ID injectors, VF22, etc.. But the tune is by Carberry, does anyone know or use this in Canberra? So far I cannot find a single person who gets it - as far as I know it is more of a USA program.

Anyways, happy Friday and thanks in advance!

Johnny :drinks:

Yesss, the list is long! it can’t all happen at once, it should be a quite a quick little car, once it’s all been fitted and tuned. Pending the health of the VF22, I’ll consider something like a 20G. GT Pumps seem to make some lovely looking units.

Welcome to the forums. Was an ex-pat Queenslander in the act for many years with navy working out of the grey sponge that is Russell Offices and funny enough I miss the place, even with the stupidity of the national capital authority making us pay for our parking at

Great project there but I shudder at the work you intend doing with a bullet when you get it done.

Welcome to OzFoz! Shame about the problems you had with the car but you have good plans to make it a great car.
