so as a few of you know my car got defected for everything on it (pod, fmic, seats, cage, too low, too loud, rims and boost controller. so everything basically. lol)
so my question is what does it take to get a fmic engineered? all routes are going to be explored and i really want to have it done properly.
same for exhaust, coilovers etc.

have heard on facebook that if i go e85 ill pass emissions testing with flying colours. so is that all id need to do?

I think you need to sit down and have a lengthy chat to an RTA certified Engineer. Requirements will change from state to state.

My reo has been cut but very minimally. Like 99 percent of it is still there..
Im booked in tomorrow to talk to Peebles over at cardiff. He sounds pretty good from what we talked about over the phone.

As Tremayne said. A friend of mine once registered an (ex) drag car in QLD. The car was purely a drag car before he bought it. He used the services of an engineer from start to finish and did exactly as the engineer asked and once that was done, he passed it. Using the same person is key.

An 11.1 second street car. Yay.

My other car got a turbo engine swap and the engineer at Kreative Enterprises, Windsor, said engineering for a front mount isn't a problem if I'm not cutting metal.
I only had factory top mount at the time, but planned to do front mount. Knowing this, his certificate said there was an intercooler, but he didn't say where it was :)
I had big issues with 2 other engineers - one charged by the hour, even to talk to me on the phone!
The other needed to hire a race track to do high speed brake testing on my car. Cost = $5k just for brake test.
Kreative seem to use common sense & were great to deal with. I hope you get a good engineer that likes modded cars.

welp. verdict is in. and its not looking bad. but then again its not good either.

if i wanna keep the cage i gotta take out the back seats.
brides have to go
reo needs to be replaced, can keep the front mount tho.
bov needs to go as usual. (recirc.)
hydro has to go
needs to have an IM240 done for the engine conversion
need to change all the running gear basically back to stock (gearbox is too loud, wont pass the sound testing that will need to be done for the exhaust stationary and drive by sound testing)
coilovers can be engineered. only needs to be raised a few mm to make it legal.

Image

so i think the road i'm going down is re-shelling the car into a GT body to save myself half the hassle. wont need to be IM240'd that way and all the brake testing wont need to happen. can swap all my gear over to a rolling shell and be done with it.
