It could well have done that many KMs. Trying not to be racist. But sometimes japanese drivers have a real hard time with clutch operation. Ride the hell out of it at every intersection etc. And there is alot of traffic congestion aswell. So possibly alot of stop start clutch riding.

Yeah fair call, I've been in JDM traffic, and my wife f'ing destroys clutches and throwout bearings.

Well there's a lot of talk about the auto tailshaft needed with the 6spd and as I have a gdb sti tailshaft I thought what is the difference and there's is very little 5mm on front half and 5mm on rear half so are there any issues with running the sti tailshaft

The problem with the sti shaft is where the center bearing carrier mounts to car. Forester driveline is all spaced down compared to impreza. And that includes the hieght at which the driveshaft hangs from the car by the bearing carrier. Im pretty sure you could use the sti shaft aslong as you space down the carrier the appropriate amount. And possibly use longer bolts to do so.

Well I just fitted it earlier and the original bolts were too short due to the rubber bushing on the centre bearing so are u saying that it needs more spacers plus the sti bushes on the centre bearing or will the bushe's on there own b enuf cheers

Use spacers. If you get knocking on load you'll need to install an auto driveshaft.
