I never tried the Hans with the stock seat, so can't help you there.

I have a Sparco Sprint V seat at the moment.

Part of it would depend on your size. Where is the "harness slot" in the seat back compared to your shoulders when sitting in the car?

The HANS H-are and I have need the straps to be horizontal or preferably slightly down off the back of the shoulders to work as advertised (clamp the device to the body).
