I'm trying to get a bit of lift on my forester for better offroading. I've searched all through the tyre threads for alternative sizes being fitted but doesn't look like many people have tried the 80 profile tyres on the foresters. The standard 16" wheels don't allow for tyres past 215width due to being only 6.5" wide.
Anything over 70 profile in the 215 width comes up as cargo tyres or van tyres so my next option would be to get a skinnier tyre but with 80 profile which provides lots of options for all terrains.
If anyone has fitted anything over 70 profile on their standard 16s please let me know.

hey Geezer (great name lol)

You can fit 225/70/16 (28.4") to your SH without rubbing but will need to lift it first. 205/80/16 is narrower than stock and is 28.9" so I doubt it will fit without trimming & bashing panels. Certainly wont without a 2" lift.

I can help with the lift, I've done a heap of 2" lift kits for SH Foresters, it's my most popular model atm. PM me for details.

This is with 225/70/16 all terrains

This is with 215/70/16 BFG KO2s

Yeah agreed with Matt (Nachaluva), would highly recommend not going with that size. I have 225/70/16 BFG KO all terrains on my 2010 foz and a 2" lift, yeah I'd probably recommend 215/70/16's as the top choice (can pair with a lift or keep standard height but still gain a slight lift from larger tyres) although 225's will also work

Has anyone tried 225/75/16 muddies on a foz b4???
Asking as I'd seen some tyres of this size for sale and wondered if they would work... i have 215/70/16s on my sg at the moment...

225/75/16 is 29.3". You can fit them but will need a 2" lift, low offset rims or 1" wheel spacers, plus you'll have to do some trimming on the panels to stop rubbing.

It is possible, I've had one customer fit 31" tyres (on a SF)!!

I see that this is an offroad related question. However, you've got to get there and back, and it's highly unlikely that the diameter is street legal.

Check here, you can only go 15mm bigger diameter than OEM:

I think 90% of the mods on this forum aren't 100% legal lol
