Bass Ke there is a little motor sport event called Formula One on in Singapore very soon!!!!! Please dont tell me you are going for that as I would be very jealous.

Have fun enjoy the culture, sights, hospitality and the food!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Chilli crab, char kway teow and laksa in malaysia/singapore highly recommended.

SGP and MYS friends

I've just noticed that a new checkpoint has opened on the Malaysian side of the Causeway, it look's massive!!!

Any of you guy's used it yet?

I walked over the causeway through the old checkpoint and things looked pretty crazy and busy then, much better now?

yes....the new checkpoint for MYS side just open and it is much better(I hope!) it is still under testing process, but should be fine. The problem is only they might understaff.....same like the old checkpoint, but much easier if you're travelling by bus as they have nearer parking to the checkpoint..

p/s: They use to have 12 counters but open only 5-6...hehehehehehhe

We got lost in the old one!

As the walkway was on the left side of the bridge coming from SG to MYS we assumed the Checkpoint would be near the footpath, but we ended up crossing about 20 lanes of traffic to find the proper checkpoint!

I've found a couple of pictures and it look's like an impressive facility, far less intimidating than Woodlands as well!

yup....I'm just lucky because of my hubby's position.....I felt pity to the people that have to walk along the way just to got their passport's granted...you have to stop on the left side but the checkpoint is in the other side...but now it more like bus station.... so might more convenience for the tourist.

I can recall driving down with the family from KL back in the 80's, but I don't recall stopping anywhere on the way over. Maybe it' just my memory failing me.

It can be complicated, Especially the train journey at the moment, although I imagine that will change soon with JB Sentral opening.
