Hi all,
This includes fitting the KS-Tech delete plates (blocking off each valve)...........Cost for the service is $250 (my work) + $67 (plates) = $317

Hi Tremayne, I figure at that price you aren't removing the turbo to access the drivers side port? (unless your hourly rates are really, really cheap :) )

I'll be installing blanking plates myself this weekend and am interested in your method for the drivers side. Are you just fitting the plate to the valve end of the metal pipe and leaving the pipe in place? I don't see anything wrong with this method as it effectively produces the same result in much less time.

My air pump seized 12 months ago but now at least one valve has stuck opened, don't ask me how that happened after all this time but it's time for the whole system to go

Thanks.

In earlier models up to Foz 07 both valves are situated on the passenger side and the plates go as follows

Well there you go....

I think most people install the plates directly onto the back of the block, then removing the whole secondary air system. I had never considered sandwiching them between the pipe flange and the valve housing. Very Stealthy :drinks:

Have you been using a metal gasket or exhaust sealant between the flange and the plate?

Reuse the stock metal gasket and the plates come with a second gasket to use on the other side. It's a little fiddly lining it all up to get the bolts back in but it works. KSTECH have 1 set of plates to block off the heads and a different set for blocking off the valves.

Oh man, I didn't even know those existed
They are going to be so much easier to install.

I have already bought a set for the head and plan to do the job this weekend. The value blocking plates are certainly a lot thinner than the head blocking plates but do you happen to know if they are the same pattern?

Gasket pattern is slightly different and the bolt holes are different diameters. The ones on the head use a larger diameter bolt.

^^^Bugger^^^

I have some 2mm stainless plate in the garage. Think I'll just trace out the original flange gasket and make my own blanking plates. Won't have a new gasket to suit but I will seal them up with a bit of permatex to be sure.

FOR SALE:
2 sets of KSTech Blanking plates (4 plates and 4 gaskets) = $45 per set including P&H

What would you charge to just delete the codes? Also if it remove the valves completely is there a problem with that?

You have to block off the ports on the heads if you want to remove the valves. Also, one of the valves contains the atmospheric pressure sensor for the ecu. This has to remain plugged in for correct manifold pressure sensor readings.
