Hi all,
I'm hoping to get my 2004 XT timing belt, water pump, pulleys, tensioners etc changed..... just waiting on the parts to arrive, but I need someone to fit them.

I think I also need the rocker cover gasket doing too as something is leaking oil on the exhaust and it smokes everytime I go anywhere.

Any recommendations in SE Melbourne (I'm in Highett), happy to travel a bit too though!

I emailed and PM'd sharpie but I don't think he checked the messages as it was a few weeks ago.

Cheers!

Can +1 for Lucas. Not sure about timing belt, but the rocker cover gaskets is ~$750 (assume you'd want to do both sides).

Booked in for Wednesday! And that's the exact price I was quoted :)
Also booked for the timing belt replacement, I have the parts so that will just be labour and any minor bits. Think it was 2 or 3 hours estimated

Took it today and the mechanic fitted the timing belt kit, needed to order in an extra pulley that wasn't in the kit (aisin wpf-004) and an air con pulley that the bearing had gone on aswell.

Turns out the leak is from the oil cooler not the rocker cover so I'll have to book in another day for that and they'll order the O rings in from the dealer.

So it's still got the oil leak for now but at least I know the timing belt should last me for a while, and I now at least know why it was leaking and smoking on the first drive.

Will call and book that tomorrow once I can sort out a good date for it! Sounds like it's not too much labour for that and it will be done with an oil change so that's another thing I can be sure about....... hopefully it won't become a money pit!

Most spots would have done the rocker cover gaskets anyway and then told you about the oil cooler that needs doing after.
