Can anyone recommend a socket set for general use around the garage. Won’t be used very much, but every now and then. To replace my existing spanner style ones.

Not looking to break the bank, but want something that will last.

Confused with 1/2, 1/4 & 3/8 metric and imperial etc.

Cheers in advance.

Maybe around $150-$200 bracket or so?

I bought a similar set to this - has been awesome. I like that its a hollow drive, as you can still stick an allen key/screw drive through it while rachet'ing if need be

The 1/2", 3/8" etc is just the size of the drive shaft of the ratchet. The size of the sockets (the end that goes onto bolts, nuts etc) could be metric or imperial
