Can anyone help me out as I'm stockpiling parts for 100k service. It's the inline type filter found under the bonnet.

I have hit a snag with the fuel filter as there seems to be 2 types floating around with pipes in different places but both claim they are for Forester 05 SG9 EJ251.

Looks like the car currently has a 6 star brand filter (pic uploaded) but can't see a part number on it.

Ryco tells me that Z348 is what i'm looking for but the pipes look different.

SCA use their own SKU numbers but the RYCO filter there is Z348, however there are 2 Sakura filters listed. I was looking at getting Sakura due to price.

The first one says interchangeable with Z348, the second one says "different pipe position to Z348"

The second one looks more like my existing filter. can anyone confirm if there are any other differences I should be looking out for, if either will work or if I need a specific one?

is that on an SG non turbo?

I believe the later 05 SG (MAF sensored EJ253) onwards don't have the same filter.

Yes, I believe all modern Subarus (95+?) if it has an under bonnet filter it will be a 42072AA011

I can't remember when the change is (or if na vs turbo), but later SGs have an intank filter

nice one, thanks. I just checked Sakura's site and all Turbo and NA have the same filters, expect for late SG NA onwards.

Quick update OP, the genuine OEM part number 42072AA011 that was mentioned by another member on this thread has been replaced/updated to part#42072PA000. It's a direct replacement per Subaru. OEM Subaru parts and accessories are better quality and perform better in my opinion. I'd stay away from aftermarket replacements. Hope this link with the replacement/updated part number helps you out OP. https://www.subarupartsdeal.com/parts/s ... aa011.html
