This is my connection to the fuse box using an "Add-A-Circuit", sorry about the mess of cables. I ran it off a 20Amp circuit and used a 10Amp fuse in the added circuit. I removed the poxy inline 10Amp fuse supplied by Pioneer as it now wasn't necessary. You can also see I have done similar for my Dash Cam and Reverse Cam (it uses a DC-DC 12v to 6v converter) which are running off the one circuit. I figured the draw from them is pretty low and wouldn't be an issue. I try to label each end of my cables so I know what they are down the track. I guess that's overkill.

Thats above and beyond, nice one

Lucky! Mine doesn't have one at all, so I am assuming there will be no factory wiring for it.

I'm running the standard Kenwood Nav in my 09 XTP without a reverse camera aswell.

I purchased a reverse camera and wiring kit from a shop on Facebook called Automotive Shed.

I'm yet to wire it all up, but it includes (I think) everything you need to get a reverse camera for the stock double din Nav.

Hope this helps.

New OwnIce C500 is installed - holy ****, this unit is awesome :drinks: ODBII with all the gauges working straight away, so much more responsive. Makes the other unit look like a nokia 3110

I will get some pics soon - in case you hadn't noticed, I just migrated gmail drive accounts and it lost all my photos  One negative of cloud - easy to migrate to, hard to migrate from...

First thread I've found thats going to be remotely useful for a project of my own!

I've just ordered this, because I'm sick of the sub par quality from the stock Kenwood Navigation unit.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/7-Android-7 ... 2749.l2649

I figured I'd be out of my depth on the install, but having found this thread it seems that a few of us are either working trough some issues, or have made it to the other side!

My biggest worry is the wiring harness, I'm not too keen on spending Repco prices on stuff to have to cut and shut it in there anyways.

I'm also not too keen on cutting the factory loom, because from the reviews I've read/watched on the unit I've ordered, I reckon I'll be keeping it and sticking the factory unit back in the car, when it comes time to upgrade the vehicle!

So far, here's a list (and hopefully I'm bringing it up to date) of things I think are needed.

The ISO harness with steering control:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CTSSU003-2-S ... SwUchZ6Knr

New Facia to suit:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-Radio-F ... 2749.l2649

Antenna adapter (because occasionally I listen to Triple J):
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/181206313478

An OBD2 Bluetooth adapter because I love the ability to have diagnostics running real time with all the bells and whistles, not just the watered down version that Subaru gave us with the stock navigation unit!

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-Diagnos ... SwwPhWjNRF

And apparently I need a DC Set down converter for the OEM rear camera, but from what Ive read there is some speculation about it?:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Waterproof-D ... 1462910417

Stuff that seems a little spotty on details, Stock sub?:

We can get it to work, there are several mentions to this:

http://ae64.com/Subaru-Navi-subwoofer-RCA-install.htm

Which I'm guessing means I need this?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/XScorpion-15-P ... ZVSBVouchg

Have I missed anything Lads?

Thanks to everyone who's contributed to this thread, I jumped in and brought the head unit, then had an 'oh sh*t' moment, until I found this!

This one is cheaper

New Facia to suit:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-Radio-F ... 2749.l2649

Same as this one (where I got mine)
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Perfect ... 0.0.W39yAM

Antenna adapter (because occasionally I listen to Triple J):
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/181206313478

Aerpro had a delay getting me mine, but works a treat

An OBD2 Bluetooth adapter because I love the ability to have diagnostics running real time with all the bells and whistles, not just the watered down version that Subaru gave us with the stock navigation unit!

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-Diagnos ... SwwPhWjNRF

I have a cheapie, it's a fairly good but is a bit hit and miss

And apparently I need a DC Set down converter for the OEM rear camera, but from what Ive read there is some speculation about it?:

Couldn't be assed waiting, got this from jaycar

Stuff that seems a little spotty on details, Stock sub?:

Not really, you only need one RCA not two. I ended up fitting a kenwood underseat subwoofer instead of the stock one so it's a bit easier. you just need to solder connectors to plug in to the underseat sub for the rca cable

Have I missed anything Lads?

Hope that helps, you'll also need an adapter if you want to use the stock gps

Thanks man, I actually did find the cheaper steering wheel control unit, grabbed that one instead of the one I originally posted!

Also, unsure on stock GPS, might see when it comes time!

Most headunits come with a gps, just mount it on top of the headunit itself. Thats what I did with my kenwood - no issues with gps and locks on almost instantly.

Did you consider the 10.1” screen when you were putting yours in?
https://www.carjoying.com/au-warehouse/ ... t/794.html

I emailed them and they recommended the 10” so seeing if anyone has looked into it.
They mention that you can mount the screen higher or lower so it doesn’t cover the AC vents
