Completely agree, very disgruntled that i dont have the IPOD interface connection. Frustrating.

Wow I just did this mod and it worked perfectly. Well everything except my mic was crappy. I thought i test it out before tryng to hunt down a mic, thanks so much for this post.

Another happy customer. Subaru really dropped the ball on the 09's.

Someone want to make me one? I'm too lazy to do the mod myself...

I finally got around to doing this job last night. I bought a cheap PC desktop microphone for around $5 delivered, and ripped up a socket from an old computer. Installation was pretty simple.

I have the microphone sitting out the frame sseparating front window and drivers door at the top of the plastic.

Seems to work, so am happy.

I see there is a rear camera socket there... Is it as simple as just plugging a camera in? And then it will work?

You know there's pretty heavy fines if you get caught doing that, so I hope you had your windows up and a towel over your lap to hide it!!! ;)

Hi all,

I have just been doing some google work after seeing the plugs on the back of the unit.
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you guys with MY09 XTP.

I have come up with this link:
http://www.dnaaudio.com.au/sb-a001-suba ... 0-pin-plug
I would assume that this is what is required to get a direct ipod connection to the HU?
