i need one for an SG but most seem to have a cap on the radiator, but my stock one doesnt? do people plug these or run this extra cap to the over flow?

There a model for early SG which is capless, the later SG model has the cap.

How weird is it. I witnessed the Hawkeye WRX is the same, as opposed to the Bugeye, is this another cost saving measure/design measure for Subaru?

It is a separate circuit so water/coolant won't leak out of the holes.

But if you asked for a manual rad i'd be contacting them.

it seems it might be a built in oil cooler. shouldnt it be fine to just leave not hooked up?

**EDIT - called them up, this model seems to be for manual and auto. i just gotta leave it alone and im all good**

got a Subaru mechanic going to fill up an old bottle with genuine coolant for me today!

did this yesterday. tips from me

new hose clamps you need are 32-57ish mm
"burping" the driver side and lower pasanger side rad hoses helps a ton get the fluid though. i reckon i used about 7-8 litres to fill er up.

o and i got 9mm stuff from clarke rubber. got 1.5m for 9.90 which i used for the top to stop it hitting on the body and down the sides between the fan and the rad to get a good seal. it is suposedly heat rated so will see how we go!
