Hi guys,
SH XT Fuel Tank - can you drain it - there is no drain plug of course!

Why do I want to drain, have had bad fuel was in the tank and I want it out.

Yes I have had the fuel pump out to siphon it but is there a easier way?

Cheers Al

Leave the fuel pump in, disconnect the fuel hose in the engine bay and direct into a container. Find the fuel pump relay and bridge the connector to run the pump till tank is empty, or put 12v directly onto your pump plug seeing you already have the seats out.

Bridging the fuel pump relay wont pump fuel on a modern subaru. The fuel pump controller and the fuel pump relay work in concert, and need both active to pump fuel.

Powering it direct will work.

Another option is to disconnect the return line and collect it, then just idle the engine untill it stalls out.
