I've got an issue with my drivers side mirror. When I adjust it to go up and down it doesn't work but works from left to right. Is there any way that I can fix this? It's a 2010 model any help would be greatly appreciated

Watching this thread with interest. My driver's side mirror starts clicking beyond a certain "outward" adjustment point. It's workable at that point but annoying I can't send it further.

Can you push it further by hand ? I've noticed when I've washed or bumped mine on the glass they kind of 'ratchet /click ' move to other positions , not sure if same on SH .

My passenger side mirror goes up and down however doesn't respond to left and right. The glass can be manipulated left and right very easily like it's no longer engaged with the motor.

I'm considering replacing the mirror. Can the back which is painted be removed and re-fitted to another mirror?

MY10 here.

Possible Fix

This happened to me after someone had moved/hit the mirror. The glass wasn't broken, but as above, had a restricted amount of movement and the glass would warp.

The fix that worked for me (MY07 XT)

If you can still work one axis of movement, move the glass inward (toward car) until the glass stops - this should allow you to see inside/behind the mirror just enough to see the workings.

My mirror (not sure of later models) has metal 'guides' as such for each axis (2) and I noticed that one of the guides had come out of its dedicated sleeve.
This was restricting it's motion in one direction as its location wasn't as deep.

I flexed the mirror by hand and relocated the guide - fixed!

Good luck =]

I've just fixed my mirror on my SH. It appears the glass connects to the motor by two ball and clasps made of plastic, one on the bottom of the mirror and the other on the side of the mirror furthest away from the car.

You'll need to re-clip the mirror into the motor which has the ball (male) end. Firmly push the glass on the bottom near where the ball and clasp meet and it will clip back in. It will need to be a firm push but it will make a click sound so you'll know when it's in.

To see what I'm talking about, grab a torch and look behind the glass from the bottom of the mirror. Adjust the glass accordingly.

My front driver's side window doesn't go up and down but goes left to right. I managed to get a. Picture of the inside and it looks like where it's supposed to connect is not connected. Anyway to fix it or change it easily my self?
