hey all,

MY04 FXT (or SG5 as we call it here) owner here.

installed an SG9 STI (MY07?) instrument cluster with the original 180kmh speedo. bought the 240kmh speedo from japanparts and plugged it in. it's now running approx 40kmh fast when i compare it off my digital speedo/GPS.

anybody have any ideas how to calibrate this? i've seen solutions where i'd have to get what is essentially an adjustable resistor, solder that in somewhere, lower the current to slow the speedo down to match GPS/digital speedo numbers.

are there any other solutions? anybody done a mod like this before? any affordable kits available? which wires do i splice?

i'm ok with mechanicals but not that bright when it comes to electricals. but if possible, i'd like to attempt this on my own.

thanks!

There are plenty of ways to do it. You can use a ratio box like what Waali suggested.

Can also try VSS-Pro. Which interfaces with the wheel speed sensors used for the ABS. And is adjustable aswell.

Or get a GPS based VSS like this. https://www.vdo-gauges.com/vdo-gps-spee ... enthusiast there are plenty of other brands of GPS-VSS out there aswell.
