Hi all,

I've been reading about how to set up an item I recently got cheap - http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/321988049359?_mwBanner=1

I'm just getting more confused so I thought I'd ask for some help. The part I'm confused about is how the new (crappy) soleniod fits into the system and whether the oem soleniod is still attached/involved.

So my plan is:
Install a boost gauge with signal from the intake manifold after the throttle body.
T off between the actuator and boost signal from the snail into the crappy soleniod.
Then I'm a bit lost.

I'm aiming for 10-12psi (engine most likely done 380,000klms).

Cheers,
Tim

P.S. I know it's a crappy version of a BC but this is not my daily or a well treated car.

This video will give a little insight into running more boost on a turbo than it's original intention.

You are correct on the setup, just slap the tee between both the actuator and the boost signal on the turbo man!

thanks, yes this is an additional soleniod that simply opens or closes based on the cabin switch setting (ie. standard and no bleeding or the bleed valve setting you set by screwing in and out a turn screw).

so basically it is not a soleniod that is controlled by the ecu it is a pretender and a boost tee is much easier. you still need your OEM solenoid to do its job.

I didn't end up installing it. I'll sell it on if anyone wants a cheap boost tee with a switch to turn the bleed valve setting on and off from the cabin.
