Hi guys,

I've been having an issue with my 2012 s edition where the headunit will randomly turn itself off mid-drive and then proceed to restart itself and fire back up, resetting all my audio settings and radio stations.... bloody annoying! Seems to be happening on a daily basis.

Has anyone else with a premium-optioned SH head unit had this problem before?

I'll be keen to upgrade it to something half decent if this keeps up, no bluetooth audio streaming has already been annoying and now this....

Cheers guys!

How long are you driving before it turns itself on/off? I ask as it could be overheating. I doubt it as I ran mine with no fan during the middle of summer with no problems.

Edit - does it happen when you go over a bump as this could indicate a loose wire?

I have my old headunit that works if you are interested.

Usually does it almost immediately after starting driving, bumps don’t seem to affect it, middle of winter in Canberra you’d hope it’s not getting hot!

All good mate, if it continues i’ll just have to upgrade to a better unit with apple carplay...

I haven't noticed that with mine.
Sounds like a power or grounding issue as the only time mine resets and clears all stations etc is when I disconnect the battery.
Might be worth checking the harness at the back to see if any wires are frayed

Sounds like a good idea, i have recently added a sub and had to splice in to the front speaker wires behind the headunit and also a wire for the remote turn on but I’m pretty sure the connections were good... hadn’t even had the car a week before doing so though so i’m not sure if there was an issue before or not
