Hi guys, I just ordered a sony xav-ax100 HU, kicker hideaway sub and some speakers, 6.5 componants for the front and 2 ways for the back.
My question is, can i just plug tweeters into the existing tweeter wires or do I need to use the crossovers? It's for 2011 xt premium with the kenwood sat/nav unit Cheers.

You needed to use the provided crossovers. You can use existing speaker wires to crossovers and new wires to tweeters and 6.5s.

Yeah mate, I just popped in some new Sony component speakers with the same head unit and used the crossovers. Just tucked the existing tweeter cable back down inside the door panel. A good little spot I found to screw the crossover is just inside the lip of the main speaker hole in the door. They screwed in there nice and snug

Are you installing an after market sub? If so, are you running it off an amp or has it a built in amp?

Yep, and yep. But the sub only has wires coming out so I'd have to solder in rca leads

I just installed a Kicker Hideaway on the weekend - great option to add bass and keep all your boot :)

Does your new Sony head unit have RCA output for a sub? If so, get a LOC and connect to the wiring harness of the Hideaway and use RCAs to connect between Hideaway and head unit. If not, you can use high level input (speaker wires) from the head unit to the sub wiring harness.

LOC is Line Out Converter. Used to convert speaker wires output to RCA output. You don’t need one as the Sony head unit has 3 RCA outputs. You will need one of these http://www.kicker.com/2-channel-speaker-rca-converter. Page 3 point 4c talks about this.
