Hey guys, first post but surely not my last. I found out about this forum because I have OzFoz stickers on my second hand Forester and my mate thought I was a member, now I have have to justify the stickers, anyway...

Wiring question...

Replacing the front door 6 inch speakers and am having no luck getting any noise from the RH speaker. I thought my stock speakers were blown so bought the nicer set in hopes of getting some response but no luck. I've tried adjusting the output from the stereo with no luck. The LH side worked fine so I'm thinking there's something going on with the cables between the speaker and the door. There are two green cables with a plug hanging down in the door internals but I feel this is unrelated.

Any guesses as to what I need to do from here to find the problem? Pull the whole door trim off and follow the cable the whole way through? Wiggle the cords in the back of the cd player? Check a fuse? I'm tempted to just leave it disconnected.

I'd suggest a continuity check. The door loom plugs in just inside the kick panel, so check between there and the speaker, and work back.

Is the stereo an aftermarket one? If so, take it out and inspect the wiring behind Where it joins into the original wiring. This is most likely the problem.

Hey all!
So I bought a Pioneer AVH head unit and some aerpro harnesses but a few features don't work and it all seems to be centred around the hand brake not being active.

The original Pioneer head unit connector has a bright green wire that needs to be connected however the Aerpro harness doesn't have this at all (nor the bright orange cable for auto dimming).

Is there a connection on the factory wiring for the hand brake?

If so, which pin is it?

Cheers!

Oh, and this is for a 2011 SH9 XT that has factory Bluetooth\Clarion head unit but NOT factory navigation.

There is no wire in the harness for the handbrake.
You need to run it to the handbrake cable itself. That's why it's so long.
But you can just connect it to a ground and the video features will work all the time. However not strictly legal.

I thought that might be the case. Thanks.

I can't just ground out the connection as Pioneer head units won't allow that. If I want to do it the dodgy way I need to buy a small relay and connect that instead.

I literally just did it to my pioneer. AVH275BT.

Connected handbrake lead to headunit brackets.

Hmmm well I guess I will give it a go then! Everything I read on the interwebs was telling me it wouldn't work. For once I hope the interwebs is wrong!

So I had a crack at it just before and it does indeed work. Thanks for letting me know!

I read on various websites that by simply grounding out the hand brake wire doesn't work with the 2015 Pioneer head unit. I am glad that they were wrong :D
