...to end all future bonnet scoop threads

So, you have a forester with a bonnet scoop, but want a different/bigger one? What can you do? What options are available?

SF Forester:

Stock scoop opening is 38-39mm
-Ultrex make a carbon fibre and fibreglass copy of the 02 STi impreza style scoop. (56mm)
-Genuine scoops are easily modified (there is a DIY in the DIY section of this forum). Genuine scoops can be purchased from Subaru direct if you are cashed up, alternatively purchasing from japanparts.com or a wrecker will cost you significantly less.
- 03-05 STi impreza style scoop (MRT??) (65mm)
-Custom 03-05 wrx style scoop (39mm?)

SG Forester:

Stock scoop opening is 39mm.
-The OEM Subaru 02 STI scoop is a direct bolt-on for the 04-08 XT Forester (56mm)
-MRT make a carbon fibre and fibreglass? copy of the 02 STi impreza style scoop. (56mm)
-Ultrex make a carbon fibre and fibreglass copy of the 03-05 STi impreza style scoop. (65mm)
-MRT make a carbon fibre and fibreglass? copy of the 03-05 STi impreza style scoop. (65mm)
-Ebay abortion carbon fibre with shocking mesh inside. (3"/76mm)

SH Forester:

No-one that i know of makes upgraded/larger scoops. There are carbon fibre and fibreglass style shroud surrounds which can be for looks are available, also larger scoopish sort of parts can be found. I have seen them on gen 3 liberty's, bt unsure if they will fit the SH forester.

Examples:

Excellent idea.

Just a note for non-pillared fibreglass ones -such as mine. It is three years old now and has started to sag a little on one side - ever so slightly but looks really ghetto...
