Out of curiosity, would anyone be willing to ship an Ultrex hood scoop to me here in the US? I contacted Ultrex and they said they aren't willing to ship to the US, only Australia. Or if anyone has one they are selling, I would be willing to purchase a used one as well.

If this were to happen it would need to be soon. There are new regulations coming in regarding shipping things via air to the US.

Got any details? Is it just out of australia. Or in as well.

As per Clints link, it's just air freight to the USA. Not sure how it will affect posting items, but for air freight (I'm sending stuff back to the US for work all the time) it's another hoop to jump through.

Sending by DHL (for example) would be okay if they inspect the box as they are on the approved list. I'm not sure AusPost would be able to do it as a lot of their outlets wouldn't have people with the accreditation.

Wow, so the package would need to be brought in for inspection, then shipped after it's given the "OK"? Or is it being inspected say, at Fedex, when the package is dropped off?

Yeah, that would be okay, just seal it once it's been inspected and they take control of the package. The reason I brought it up is we generally get screwed for freight prices here (IMO).

Example - a quick quote from FedEx for a 3 kg item from where I am to LA is AU$212.16 International Economy.

It would be around AU$70 via Australia Post. I'm not sure how Auspost will cope with the new reg as most of their outlets are agencies.

Probably some deal between big corporate couriers and the trump admin to legislate so people are forced to use thier option which they probs have lots of shares in.
