I installed front DBA T2 rotors and Intima SS pads about 2,000km ago. No problems with braking. I bedded them in as per instruction.

I have been told the wear as shown in this photo is normal for slotted rotors. This is the same on both sides. I am used to having a more even polished surface from plain rotors.

Is this normal for slotted rotors?

It has more to do with the pad compound, than weather the rotors have slots.

Compared to what I have experienced previously the pads seem to cause a strange wear pattern. Anyone else with similar looking rotors?

I was expecting something more like this - shiny surface all over.

I spoke with the person I bought the rotors and pads from and they said it was all normal.

I messaged Intima and they said "The rotor condition is normal for that type of rotor. This is just surface markings however and not a representation of the true rotor wear. The SS pad is the most gentle compound so there should be mininal wear. You will have to bear in mind due to the slotted design, the slots can hold dirt, dust and debris which the pad will run onto the rotor surface which can attribute to the type of finish you are concerned about. Track pads with slotted rotors have a much worse surface appearance. If having a polished surface on your rotors is important, OEM or non slotted rotors would be more suited for you."

My rotors may look worse due to the limit KMs I put on the car so minimal opportunity to "clean" the rotors surface.

Hypothetically, if the slots are constantly scraping the pads to reveal fresh pad surface, perhaps that keeps things a bit more gritty and discourages "polishing" of pad & rotor surfaces?

EDIT - you've added a better explanation.
