Hi all,

Busy removing my coilovers and fitting the old X (non SLS) struts into my XT.
Challenge I’m having is getting the lower control arm to drop low enough to get the bottom of the strut into position.

On the SH the strut sits in the center of the lower control arm so jacking it up won’t work.

I have disconnected the sway bars and still not enough clearance.

Anyone have any tips/tricks to get this done?

Thanks

Before you install and remove any height change strut your supposed to loosen all moving joints, eg sway bar mounts, reason being is you could put tension on a Bushing and it could split. That is pretty common for the SH. Or you could get a mate to stand on the disc.

I learnt this when I put my coilovers in and I split the ball joint and control arm bushings.

Thanks man, yup had disconnected the sway bar. Guess I need some extra leverage or someone to lend a hand.
