There is a problem with the signal scaling via the canbus.

Not everyone that has used it has experienced it.

But essentially it messes with your vdc and causes a fault light.

The amount of mucking around it is to get this rack installed you're better off with an earlier spec c model

I installed a 2009 WRX rack into my SH, due to the 08-10 WRX being narrow body I had to swap the forester inner tie rods onto the WRX rack, but it was really easy. The WRX rack is also 2.7 turns lock to lock (15:1) like the 09 up sti and you should be able to pick one up cheap. I got mine for $20!

Thanks for your post; where did you score the rack for $20? Some wrecker?

Scored it from a dude who used to own the car. He wrote it off and was parting it out. I got the impression he had no idea how much it was worth.

Have you noticed much difference in driving etc with the WRX rack?

I was lucky enough to be able to compare it side by side with my dads S-Edition.

Yeah it's much better. Not STI 13:1 good, but the centre dead zone is dramatically reduced, not completely eliminated though. Once the rack is loaded up mid turn it's far more sensitive then the stock rack, it's a bit of a heavier feel too which is nice, I can actually feel the road a bit better.

Shame you're in Perth, I'd let you have a drive of it.

I think a new one from Subaru is about $4000!!! A new one imported for about $1400. eBay and gumtree have some secondhand for around $250
