Just wondering if anyone is running 18x8.5+30 on a late sg, (I'm no wheel expert either)

That offset is outside street legal.

That sort of offset will risk scrubbing the guards / increase the 'scrub radius' / increase the wheel rate. Depending on the weight of the rim, that will also increase the wheel rate.

Big, heavy rim-tyre on a longer lever arm = hmm? :?

Fit? Maybe. Be good for the car? Probably not.

I wouldnt exactly call an 8.5" rim big. Kinda just right if you ask me. Heavy? I guess it depends on exactly which rim and tyre. Size and wieght are 2 different things. Big rims and big tyres do not always mean heavier.

Case in point : 18x10.5 Rays Volk ZE40 fitted with Yokohama 295/30R18 A050 WIEGH LESS THAN 17x8 Gmax Drift 6 fitted with Hankook 235/45R17 Z221.

That means you could fit rims that are 2.5" wider, with tyres that are 60mm wider, and it weigh less.

I run 18" x 9" +35 just fine with rolled guards. 245 tyres.
