I'd do a 5 wheel rotation if my spare was the same diameter.

Replace all 4. After having to do two centre diffs now (One on each foz, just after I bought them) I know 4 tyres are MUCH cheaper.

Just checked online - for 235/45/18 tyres (perfect for 18x7.5 or 18x8 rims) at St George:

KU31 - $149 each
KU39 - $169 each.

Also both Tempe Tyres and St George are having Australia Day sales tomorrow, so go haggle hard at the dealer....

Great info I thought that I would of needed 245/45 r18. Is 235 the correct width?

Which model XT? 235/45R18 is perfect for the MY04-08 SG XT.

This is me being sarcastic as I'm probably the least likely to do this

Just did mine the other day... Every 5000kms with every service! :)

AFAIK regular rotation is the only way. Esp important with the 4EAT as their torque split wears out the fronts much faster than the rears.

The Kuhmo KU31 look like great tyres & have a heap of people recommending them.

Cant comment on tyre size as mine are stock...205/70/15!

Hey Pete, I have bought a 2010 sh9 xt. Pick it up next week.
Does that change. The size recommendation

Yes, as the rolling diameter is larger on the SH. Off the top of my head, 245/45 or 235/50.

Just put the best tyres on the front. The stock forester understeer will soon scrub them down to acceptable levels....

What's the general consensus about replacing just one tyre on a Forester (having 3 partially worn and one brand new), is the risk of center differential damage real?

My tyres still have about 60 to 70% tread depth left, I recently got a puncture (tek screw) in one tyre resulting in sidewall damage which cant be repaired.

Is it a bad idea to replace just one tyre or should I replace all four at the same time?

I have found some mention on the net of 2/32" (1/16" or 1.6mm) being the maximum tread depth difference that is recommended, the new tyre will have about 2mm more tread depth than my other 3 partially worn tyres.

Am I being paranoid about matching the tyre diameters or is it not really an issue?

Anyone selling a used 225 45 18 BridgestonePotenza RE003 in Adelaide? Haha

From what i've heard, the common recommendation is to replace both wheels on one axle when it is a powered one.
