The 235/45r17 is way undersize for the SJ/SH.

235/45/17 is so cheap because it is a common size (for 10ish year old falcodores), so more are made, bringing down the unit price (higher volume size = cheaper).

Newbie here so go easy pls :)

I have Subaru Forester 20014 S4 and need new tryes. Will the RE003 from Bridgestone fit my vehicle? I have standard shop floor rims. What tyre size do i need?

Or are there better tyres I should look at? I like low noise, highway driving.

Thanks great forum :)

For size / load rating just go of the placard on your car ( prob in drivers door jam ) , There's better tyres out there than 003 but on a 4/3 deal or sale etc they are easily one of the best tyres for the money .
I have no problem with tyre noise on the highway , though as said there's probably quieter tyres out there if your happy to pay more for them .

I need some new tyres as well on my SJ 18" rims. Will take the advice here to use 235/50/18 instead of the oem 225/55/18 so that I can choose a performance tyre.

Jax have quoted me for RE003, $315 x3 + $15 fitting of the 4th free tyre. Im guessing there will be some wheel alignment cost on top. So $960 + wheel alignment.

Any tips where I can get a better price on West side of Melbourne?

New 225/55 x 17 tyres fitted to the SH today (buy 3 get the 4th RE003 free :) ), also a wheel alignment, to my surprise the guy in Jax told me the front camber is non adjustable, this was after I asked to ensure negative camber!
I've now found that it is adjustable, very ordinary service from Jax..........guessing as long as the figures are within specs they just let it pass on through.

Therefore, can anyone recommend somewhere in Newcastle for a wheel alignment that actually takes the time to set the car up correctly?

Cheers
