Got in my car the other day and immediately noticed the clutch felt "weird" much softer than usual and only disengaging the gear right before it hits the floor. Also at first it wasnt popping back out completely after taking my foot off it though it does pop out enough to engage the drive to the wheels.

At first i had to pull it back to its usual position by tucking my foot under it though it has improved slightly since and now it will pop out on its own about a second after i take my foot off it.

Any ideas? A little googling suggests master cylinder might need replacing?

Sounds strange.....

From your description, the pedal is not returning back to it's position.

Have you looked at the clutch spring inside the vehicle?
Also the connector from the clutch pedal to the master cylinder. ?

Nope not checked either as been busy with work and the car isnt a daily anymore.

Problem has improved somewhat but its not 100% to how it was.
