 Post subject: Water in drivers tail light

I Say: 3 letters in the alphabet that should never be attributed to me...DIY

I have no idea how that water is getting in here... Any suggestions?? I siliconed the top thinking it was that but nup.. Still water

Yeah mate checked the caps.. Noticed that was an issue on someone's before.. I used more silicone across the top.. Not sure if that's the issued though.. All the rubber washers seem to be fine too

I have the same issue with mine. No idea how the water is getting in. But it was in after one night in the rain...

I have the same issue with mine. No idea how the water is getting in. But it was in after one night in the rain...

I shook it and lifted it up and down and around and no water came out anywhere except when I tilted it out of the globe slots

It actually could be condensation if it was not air tight at some stage (even if water did not physically enter). Try using a hair dryer through the bulb holes to totally dry the inside and then seal it up again - worth a shot.

What we used to do in this situation at work was get a 1mm drill bit and very carefully dill a tiny hole in the bottom of the lense or light body angled down. That way the light can breath and drain any water that gets in out.

Was going to say maybe a seal around the globe knob things are shot?
