Anyone got any experience or heard any reviews about the Genuine remote starters from "Subaruonlineparts"
Part number H001SSC100

Via the instructions on the site. Looks like I can install it pretty easily.

Any known issues between the US market and the AUS?

Cheers

Never heard of anyone using a genuine kit.

I had a mate that had a viper? alarm with remote starter, and it was a pain in the ass, it would hold the starter on too long

Unless it bypasses the immobiliser somehow, I don't think it would work.

I had started looking into these - I contacted one of the sellers from the states about them.

They told me its a plug and play kit in terms of wiring (Which I like the sound of very much!)

BUT they did tell me it needs some programming once its installed.

I asked my local dealer about installing a "Genuine" remote starter and they just shrugged me off "Its illegal" "There is no genuine product"

Didn't bother asking them about it after those comments cause they obviously couldn't be F&^$#*

Let me know if you end up following through with a remote start setup - I would like one for my car, especially a genuine one that is plug and play.

Just need to find a dealer who knows about them I would say

(3) If the driver will be over 3 metres from the closest part of the vehicle, the driver must switch off the engine before leaving the vehicle.

Having your car engine running while you're over 3 metres from the car is illegal, thus why the dealer said the remote start device is illegal. The device itself isn't illegal but using it in any situation in which you'd normally use it is.
That being said, a cop would have to be having a bad day to book you for it in your own driveway.
