Hi Guys,

Coming up to the timing belt change on the S-Edition... at 105,000kms at the moment.

Was wondering what parts I need for the change, and what is recommended I change whilst I am there.

part numbers and descriptions would be great.

Thanks Guys.

Belt, tensioner and idler pullys. Supplied as a kit.

Some will also say do water pump which isnt a bad idea. And some will also say do the front crank seal and cam seals. Although not 100% needed for the first 100/125k service.

Radiator will be out, so its not a bad time to get fresh coolant. And you could even consider a new radiator too asthese tend to leak at about that age onwards.
Although again, not needed.

I think the part number for the kit is TBKIT006
You will have to double check this is suitable for your vehicle though

contains
Timing belt 13028AA240
Tensioner 13033AA042
Idler x2 13073AA142
Lower idler 13085AA080
Small idler 13073AA230
crank seal 806733030

From memory you will need a stretch belt too?

I used tbkit006 as well, but on top of that i got the water pump changed as well. May as well go for spark plugs. Just before I did all that, my radiator went, so i had to change that anyway, but as above, the radiators do tend to fail, so not a bad idea to change that. You'd change the oil and oil filter too. :) hope that helps and yes youll need a stretch belt

Accessory belts (inc stretch belt) are:

809218450 - VBELT 18X5X882
11718AA082 - BELT SET (Stretch belt and tools to make for easy install)

I'm also about to do ours, opted for new radiator over water pump as the rad is yellowing and will likely fail before the pump does.
Not doing cam/crank seals.
Am replacing thermostat.

Also while things are in pieces I'm pulling filters/screens out from AVCS system banjo bolts in the drivers side head just below turbo inlet, and the one from behind the passenger side intake cam sprocket.
Socket extensions with uni-adapters, and magnets are your friends for the turbo side.

All good advice as above!

i would also make sure you get the STi Water Pump with the caste impeller plus 2 outlets (If you wish to go further and add the STi heat ex-changer you will need the 3 outlet pump)

Rising Sun Subaru supplied all the genuine Subaru parts at well below
the $1,000 plus Subaru wanted.

What Bram said... I did the Timing Belt Kit and water pump, although my water pump still seem to be fine. but wasn't taking any chances. All genuine parts.
