Just wondering if anyone has tried/done it? Picking up a pair of WRX OEM mufflers in a few days time, and want to mount them to my ultrex catback (which I already had an additional resonator added in). I checked out the flanges and the pipe is 2.5" on the Ultrex cat back, and from what I've read the OEM mufflers are 1.85". I'm just not sure if the bolt holes/flanges will line up.

If anyone has any info I'd appreciate it - only reason I'm doing it is I need to make it as quiet as possible (without losing too much performance). Cheers

A bit more googling and it appears the mufflers might be 2.25" - if so the flange/bolt holes should mate up. Fingers crossed

I have the opposite - stock mid pipe (2.25) connecting to 2.5 mufflers with no problems.

should be fine, as long as the flanges are in the right spot. I have some TCP mufflers that are nice and quiet if you are interested.

Here's a pic of the tcp quad tip muffler bolted onto the stock mid pipe - muffler has 2.5" inlet. the stock flanges can accommodate the larger diameter so you should be right

Thanks for that - I'm picking up some stock ones tomorrow so I'll see how they go. I know from previous experience I can stuff them with steel wool balls to make them quieter

Will you be selling them commercially, or is it just like a prototype?

I will be selling them, I have a few in stock.

I am also working on a twin tip that suits the sh forester without sitting low and with a nice sound.
