I have received a letter for wifes SH. By receiving the letter does it mean our VIN is affected or still need to be checked?

Anyone know what work is involved, what needs to be removed to complete the replacement?

Hi guys,

Today I got the #SI0331: SRT243 Recall campaign Notice for Takata passenger airbag inflator for my Subaru Forester My12 .

QUOTE: Our aim is to make sure that Subaru owners have quick, easy access to having their affected vehicle rectified regarding the Takata airbag recall.

'VIN: Matches Your vehicle is included in the recall.'

I confirmed I am the registered owner of the Subaru vehicle listed and reside at the address as indicated.

'Subaru will be in touch when the parts are available for your vehicle in to be rectified.'

Has anyone had their Takata passenger airbag inflator replacement competed?

Cheers Al

I just had mine done last week. Was shocked to find no damage to the dash or surrounding trims

Hi Tobyo,
Yes one of my many issues with warranty work done in house! They did tend to damage something along the way!

Good news Tobyo.

Cheers Al

Got mine done last Tuesday along with the air pump relay (Mt Gravatt). No dashboard damage.

The fellow handing the keys back was pretty enthusiastic about the performance modifications to my car they spotted. Presumably there are a few enthusiasts knocking about the dealer servicing world.
