I just had mine done last week. Was shocked to find no damage to the dash or surrounding trims

Im taking mine in this friday and im a bit worried about a heavy handed tech going to town on my dash.
Fingers crossed to no damage.
Should I take before photo's ?

Ps only had the car a month or so.
Call in to my local Subbie dealer to see if the recall work has been done as I bought rhe car from a dealer.
Have to get air bag and air pump relay.

Take photos and of your odometer too.

Let them know you have before photos.

I am sure others who have had to have theirs done took photos.

Cheers Al

Photos cant hurt.

But they should be getting pretty good at swapping airbags by now. Its not like your car is gonna be the first one they will ever have to do...

I have to retract my previous comment. A few days later the trim running up the side of the winscreen dropped out.. appears a clip has been broken in the process. Still waiting for the replacement

Question for those that have had the recall work completed already, do you all have the recall completed sticker like the ones Tobyo posted?

I've had mine completed but cant find a sticker anywhere so I'm wondering if I need to take it back to get one? I have a receipt saying the work is completed.

Got mine done yesterday. Didn’t look for a sticker but I got the receipt for the work done.
Will have a look later to see if I got one

The stickers are in the door jam of the drivers' door. So when you open the door and look at the wiring connecting the body to the door, you should see two stickers (airbag and air relay) nearby. This is where are they on my car.

Have checked all doors and door jams and nothing. Haven't had the air relay one done as it was removed when engine was rebuilt.

Is there a requirement, legal or otherwise, where it needs to happen? Or is it just an ease of access thing to easily identify vehicles that have had the work completed?

Takata airbag failure on early sh9's. There is a current recall campaign and you can check if affected by clicking on the forester tab in the excel sheet of the following link:

Hopefully for those that are affected you are already getting letters.

Hi Guys/Gals,
You need to go to the Subaru official site to confirm whether you are affected, by entering you VIN. I had checked 3 sites, all clear, but when I checked the Subaru offical site - whammo ! I was included, fortunately I had extended warranty (5 years) they replaced it during the last and final service !

Two issues you need to consider, yes, there are two:
1) The imminent exploding air-bag due to corrosion and moisture.
2) The shrapnel that can sever arteries.

Or the combination of both ! Good luck, wear a helmet with neck protection until then !
