Wondering if any of you have experienced this - I use the middle seatbelt holder to clip in my dog restraint seatbelt. Has been there for months, the other day when I tried to pull it out it won't budge. Did some reading and sounds like its the wrong shape, so now the buckle release button will not let it out. Have tried a coat hanger down the middle and cannot get the bastard out.

Anyone got any ideas, its driving me nuts and I have to keep taking the baby seat out every time we need 4 people in the car :x

Use the car key or something small to slot it in that little hole on the buckle.
That will release the belt

Unfortunately not - appears the dog buckle is smaller than the stock buckle, so the button has no effect.

I would try looping another rope etc through dog belt to give you a bit more length to work with... (wouldn't we all love a bit more length to work with *ba-dum-tiss*)

Then from the other side of the car get your significant other to press the release button/slot thing as hard as they can while staying clear of the buckle.
While they are doing that, try pulling again with a bit more force behind it. Maybe drape the back door and door window with a thick sheet or something padded too, in case the buckle decides to head straight for it instead of out the door.

If Skyrex's idea fails you could order a new buckle from www.partsouq.com, it shouldn't be too expensive I wouldn't imagine.

I think it's not more force required, rather pressing in the right place internally. I think I need a thin piece of metal the size of the hole in the tongue...

I haven't checked mine. It is there any way you can open up the buckle?

I did have a quick look and it seems like the belt retainer is purposely difficult to disassemble due to safety reason (ie riveted, not any kind of removable bolt).
