I hadn't seen many people colour code the fog light surrounds. Just wondering if people have done this and any issues?

Example of before an after....

I want to do it and it should be a simple job. Just the hassle of taking off the bumper to properly get at them has turned me off it so far.

Taking off the bumper??

Those surrounds just pop out, just slide a plastic tab remover down the outside edge from memory. Only reason they wont just pop straight out will be if theyve built up a heap of dirt and stuff which will hold it tight in place and youll need to wiggle it around.

Well in that case, I may give it a go sooner rather than later. I was planning to do it the same time I swap to LED fog lights and changing to horns over to get it all over and done with in one go.

Slightly off topic, but to replace the foglight bulbs do you take off the plastic under-guard (the one that is part of the inner wheel arch), try to undo the foglight from the front, work down through the engine bay or what?

I see the service manual link i was using doesn't work anymore.

Thanks heaps.

EDIT - sorted by taking off the main plastic under-guard then undoing two of the clips on the side-guard until it can be pushed up to make room to reach the back of the foglight.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of plasti dipping them but have learnt that can't get plasti dip in SWP. So likely skip doing them at the moment but may revisit painting them some time down the track.

I reckon if you get a rattle can colour matched by supercheap with a clear coat over the top you won't even notice that it's not exactly SWP. I've done mine (obsidian black car) in a flat black with gloss and I can't see the difference easily

I got my front bumper repainted including the fog light surrounds. I will add before and after photos to my build thread later this week.
