How does the vf46 compare to the stock td04 in terms of lag assuming both are tuned?

19psi@2400rpm with TMIC/TBE/3Port, what is lag Vs a TD04? It had more power/torque everywhere even on TD04 boost levels, the exhaust housing flows better for same boost levels so engine can breathe!

This is also another reason I like the VF46

Looking for a turbo upgrade and found a VF46 (apparently in good condition with minimal shaft play) but done 160,000km for $340 posted to my door. My question is -
is it worth putting a 160,000km turbo into a >60,000km Foz...? I want the upgrade, and certainly don't want to spend money on a door stop.

I would look for something with lower kms... But all used parts are a hit or miss. 160,000kms at stock boost is better than 20,000 track kms haha

You know there's pretty heavy fines if you get caught doing that, so I hope you had your windows up and a towel over your lap to hide it!!! ;)

Good on you bubblegoose.
I installed mine about a month ago, and had a Throttlehappy tune and it's definitely a lot naughtier to drive. Really happy with the mod, best bang for my buck.

Yeah TD04 was retuned but with everything stock.

I only added the 3 port, and the TBE just before I installed the VF46, so can't really compare.

All I know its a much, much livelier car.
