Hey, just curious about how many people are running a VF46 in their SH? How does it compare to a TD04 and a VF52, and what would you say about your set up? Just considering other options due to the scarcity and price of used VF52s compared to VF46s.

nothing wrong with the 46. bit less up top than the 52 but better spool too. far more top end than the TD04 ;)

Correct. I run a VF46 and love it. As other have stated it spools up nicely and quicker than some other turbo options and has plenty of puff up top compared to the TD04....not as much up top as say a VF52 though...

All comes down to where you want the boost in your power curve, and and how you drive it....
For me, my FOZ is a daily driver, and spends most of its time in the 2500 - 4000 rpm range for daily duties, which is where I want all my power and torque - so the quicker spooling of the VF46 suits this perfectly.

I dont drag/track mine either - so a turbo that is going to provide max torque higher up in the rev range (4000 up) is not of any use to me.

The tune has a lot to do with this as well, and if you find the right tuner you can achieve similar results with "bigger" turbos....but for simplistic approach and a safe tune that see's max torque in a "usable" spot in the power band the VF46 wins hands down IMHO.

Wouldn't have a clue mate - don't run 'virtual dyno' or anything like that so would only be able to do a stop-watch 'ghetto-spec' time runs.

There are a few VF46's for sale on Club Liberty if you're keen. I posted up a WTB thread a week or two ago because I thought my TD04 was dead; have a look there. I will eventually get VF46 or VF52 when funds allow..
