Just had my Foz service and it was suggested that the clutch was 'heavy' and it was advised it be replaced soon before it does other damage. Suggested it may do damage to the pedal box. I've not heard of this before and even though it does seem a little heavy in operation (particularly to the Mrs.) it doesn't slip, smell or anything else. Car has done 150k ish and I've not done a clutch in the time I've had it (over 100k) any ideas / opinions????

Clutch on the way out would be crunching between gears and only disengaging at full throw of the pedal.

I have a different model car, but my clutch has always been "heavy"

Heavy clutch could definitely mean it is on its way out. Happened with my SG and is happening again with my STI

I have had both standard and aftermarket clutches in my sh9, and everyone says it is heavy.

stock one was heavy when it was burnt out and the new one felt about the same as the old one.

maybe the person who told you this is basing it on the clutch feel of a small car

My clutch has always been heavy too... it was even heavier than my work BT50's clutch.

Comparatively between all the cars we have owned over the years, the SH definitely requires the most effort.
Both SH's we've had were the same. The SJ we had was "small car" light in feel, possibly too light.
But in fairness they are half the torque so you would expect less clamp load required on the pressure plate.
The only other car I have driven which would have been as heavy as the SH, if not heavier was a 350Z.

Tell the work shop guy to take a spoon full of cement & harden up.
