Bump.
If someone is in the know it would be good.
I think I will take it on anyway as the wife said she had driven it from Newcastle to Sydney and Wollongong with it on already.

My system has been in a failed state for a number of months now with one of the valves supposedly stuck open. I already have the blanking plates just need to get off my arse and get sharpie to fit them and delete the codes.

I wouldnt panic about it.

number 1 daughter looking to buy 2007 XT auto with 117K on the clock.

As I had air pump issue with my previous 2007 XT at 90K could I assume this one is ok or is it still a ticking time bomb?
She cant afford to get expensive tunes & chips so has any one in Adelaide got a better option possibly if it goes pear shape for her. She will still have to do the timing belt & tensioners etc within the next 6months as well.

look forward to your replies... :drinks:

I have been told Mike Dale Automotive at Holden Hill can delete the codes.
I ended up getting S&J to do mine.

Wow, over one year later and I still have the air pump issue. I check the codes occasionally via scan gauge to see if any new codes pop up. Only real annoyance is the lack of cruise control.

Yep. Remove the codes, flash in the new 'tune', and an ECU reset does the trick. The codes are disabled, so they don't trip again and cause a CEL.

Don't know if this is relevant;

but just received a letter from Subaru, dated 21/10/16 (is Australia Post kidding me??? I just got it today 28/11/16 - that's almost 6 weeks!!!) Anyway;

RECALL CAMPAIGN - Secondary Air Pump Relay on certain Subaru turbocharged vehicles.

...certain Liberty GT, Impreza WRX/STI and Forester XT vehicles may contain a potentially faulty secondary air pump relay. If the relay were to fault, the secondary air pump circuit is power continuously. If the secondary air pump is powered continuously it may overheat and this may pose a fire risk.
