I removed both valves and pump about 6 months ago and car has ran fine just had fault codes up and no cruise control..
So tonight I visited Sharpie (ozfoz) and had him delete codes and do a couple other small tweaks... I really love my fozz now.... Its going great much more responsive and fun to drive...So I'm going to say these valves do not need to be there for any other purpose than to pre heat the cat... if they aren't doing that, then get rid of them!

My pleasure! Ive done a heap of these and its a mod well worth doing. Ive got my opinion on the baro sensor and ita got nothing to do with the pump....
Anybody else needs this done in melb hit me up for a quote!

So if the fuse to the valves is disconnected to keep them closed , will this stop the sensor working correctly?

From the reading I did it appeared the barometric sensor is contained in the valve that has the 5 pin plug on it. I plated all mine but left that valve bolted to the engine and connected. You can see it here:

Been working fine like this. Admittedly I haven't tried with it disconnected.

I have had The codes turned off for some time however left the valves one active to see if they fail. They have now failed and are jamed open. I will be getting a delet kit installed in 2 weeks but need to drive to Sydney from Newcastle next week. Will I end up burning the airpump if I drive that far? The valve has thrown an error code for about 2 months now but the car only gets driven short distances normally?
Hopefully someone will say it's fine as I don't want to get stuck on the freeway.

I know what needs to be done, but I cannot get it in to be fixed until I get back from holidays and I was planning to drive the car to the airport from Newcastle.
Would this length of drive do any major damage if the valve/s are stuck open.
As I said in the previous post, I am happy to putt around town but I don't want to get stuck on the freeway.
