After having my rear tailgate glass replaced after getting broken into my tailgate doesnt open. Ive tried unlocking it from the inside but still no luck. After pulling out some of the trim i found some glass near the mechanism. Im assuming theres broken glass wedged somewhere screwing with the latching mechanism. Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks guys

There should be an access port on the inside center of the rear trim?
There is on the SH.
That's where you can poke the release for the lock.
Maybe someone really knows what to do for your My06?
Cheers Al

Just had a look at my 2006.
It has a plug about 25mm located in the centre of the hatch trim.
cant see much up there but can feel the lock with finger.
Hope it helps.

TBH I think you're largely screwed. Without removing that trim from the glass down, I doubt you'll be able to clear the problem, and removing the trim with the tailgate closed will be well nigh impossible without actually destroying it (the trim). In your situation I'd start looking for a replacement trim, and get busy hacking in there. Not necessarily in that order.
